SEBI Digital Accessibility Guidelines
SEBI digital accessibility guidance concerns the investor-facing digital platforms of regulated entities. Use the circulars below to establish the applicable reporting route and requirements, then prepare an assessment of the websites, apps and portals your investors use.
Reference list checked on . Read the original circulars together with subsequent updates before deciding a filing date or reporting obligation.
Which SEBI digital accessibility circulars should you read?
- 25 September 2025: compliance guidance referencing the July 2025 digital accessibility circular.
- 8 December 2025: clarification, including reporting authorities, a platform-level readiness format and periodic accessibility audits.
- 31 July 2026: timeline extension notice. Review the notice itself for the amended schedule and its scope.
Identify the reporting route for your entity
Annexure A of the December clarification identifies reporting authorities. It distinguishes stock brokers and depository participants, investment advisers and research analysts, and other regulated entities. Annexure B provides a platform-level readiness format. Confirm the route for your entity against the original document and any subsequent instructions.
Prepare an accessibility assessment brief
The following is a practical project checklist, not a reproduction of a regulatory filing form:
- Inventory the experience: list investor-facing websites, mobile apps, portals and essential downloadable documents.
- Select complete journeys: include onboarding, authentication, transactions, statements, support and recovery from errors.
- Agree the assessment: document the standards, platforms, assistive technologies, exclusions and test access.
- Make findings actionable: record affected components, reproduction steps, user impact, remediation owners and priorities.
- Verify repairs: retest completed changes and record remaining barriers before describing a platform's status.
